Ulrik Andersen replaces Christian Andersen at Avance Gas

Pure-play VLGC owner Avance Gas Holding has appointed Ulrik Andersen as chief executive officer.

Andersen replaces Christian Andersen who stepped down earlier in the month after leading the company since it was formed by Stolt-Nielsen in 2007.

Ulrik Andersen will commence his new role in August. He moves from Petredec where he is the commercial head of shipping, and has previous experience at Neu Gas Shipping and Maersk Tankers.

Commenting on his appointment, Andersen said: “I am thrilled to have been offered the opportunity to lead Avance Gas. I am very much looking forward to cementing Avance Gas’ position as one of the world’s leading providers of VLGC tonnage. The outlook for the VLGC shipping market is positive, and I believe Avance Gas with its strong organisation and flexible fleet is well-positioned to fully capitalise on this going forward.”

Avance Gas currently has a fleet of 14 modern VLGCs.
