Ultra Deep Solutions seals five-year charter for newbuild DSCV

Singapore subsea owner Ultra Deep Solutions has entered into a five-year charter agreement with Malaysia’s Red Tech Offshore for newbuild diving support construction vessel Van Gogh.

Red Tech Offshore, an integrated decommissioning subsea contractor, will take the vessel on delivery from China Merchants Heavy Industry, currently scheduled for May 2018. The vessel will be flagged in Malaysia.

Shel Hutton, CEO of Ultra Deep Solutions, commented: “Once again UDS is very proud to work closely with its partners in the region. We look at our long-term goals in the Asia area. Our future now will require decades of decommissioning work and Red Tech Offshore is a well-known company working with Vestigo/Petronas in this subsea area. UDS will help support their projects with diving services and ROV services. Right now, we are still focusing in the area for future long term projects. The subsea market continues to move in the right direction and we foresee more project awards for the UDS fleet of vessels in the next few weeks.”

Ultra Deep Solutions is rapidly building up a fleet of DSCVs with several vessels close to completion. The first to be delivered, Lichtenstein, is currently operating in the Middle East.
