UMW Offshore Drilling to supply jack-up rig to SapuraKencana

UMW Offshore Drilling has won a contract to provide a jack-up drilling rig and associated services to SapuraKencana Energy Peninsula Malaysia (SKE) and its sister companies based in Sarawak and Sabah. The value of the contact was not disclosed.

The rig UMW NAGA 8 began the contract on September 28 to drill up to 18 wells, parent company UMW Oil & Gas Corp said today in an exchange filing.

The client, part of Malaysia’s SapuraKencana Petroleum, has an extension option for three additional wells.

UMW NAGA 8 is a premium independent-leg cantilever jack-up rig, with drilling depth capability of 30,000 feet and a rated operating water depth of 400 feet.
