Singapore: Singapore-listed Uni-Asia Holdings has signed with Japan’s Imabari Shipbuilding to take on a 37,000 dwt newbuild bulk carrier in a year’s time for $25m. Hong Kong’s Pacific Basin will take the ship on a five-year charter with options to extend the contract.
Uni-Asia is a Japanese-led investment firm with stakes in 15 ships plus four newbuilds on order. [04/03/13]
