Unique’s latest sale shows MR uptrend in values

Unique Shipping from Hong Kong is developing strong ties with Denmark’s Celsius Shipping. Clarkson reports in its latest weekly report that Unique, controlled by the Cheng family, has sold its eight-year-old, Japanese built MR tanker Unique Developer for $17m. This is the second sale between the two parties recently.

“The pricing is broadly in line with recent market activity, namely the Nord Innovation which was sold recently for around $17m to Densay, and confirms the recent upward trend in values,” Clarkson noted.

In addition, Clarkson reported Alma Maritime has committed its 2007-built MR Kentaurus for $13.7m to Norwegian interests.
