USCG probes death on MOL chemical tanker

The US Coast Guard (USCG) is investigating the death of a person on board a chemical tanker moored in Richmond, California, at the weekend, according to NBC.

A body was recovered from the 2008-built Argent Sunrise after the death was reported to Richmond police and relayed to USCG. The dead person was identified only as a man in his 30s.

Richmond is in the East Bay of the San Francisco Bay Area.

Panama-flagged Argent Sunrise was moored at the ConocoPhillips refinery in Canal Boulevard when the body was recovered.

The vessel had moved to the inland port of Stockton by Wednesday.

According to Equasis, Argent Sunrise is owned by Japan’s MOL Chemical Tankers.
