Valesto awarded jackup contract by Carigali Hess

Malaysia’s Velesto Drilling, part of Valesto Energy, has been awarded a contract by Carigali Hess Operating Company for 2015-built jackup rig Naga 8.

The contract is scheduled to commence in the second half of 2020 and is for a duration of three years. The contract, valued at $131m, also includes three extension options of six months each.

Carigali Hess is a joint venture between Petronas company PC JDA and Thailand’s Hess engaged in gas production in Block A-18 of the Joint Development Area administered by the Malaysian-Thailand Joint Authority.
