Valloeby in for Chinese-built LR1

Germany’s Chemikalien Seetransport has sold the dirty trading LR1 tanker Athens Star to Malta-based Valloeby Shipping for a touch above $13m. The 73,869 dwt ship was built in China in 2005.

According to Clarkson Research Valloeby have been active in the market for Chinese built product tankers of late, acquiring the ex-Norden controlled handysize Nord Thumbelina for a price in excess of $13.5m in September 2016.
