Vard secures second offshore vessel contract for 2015

Singapore-listed Vard Holding has announced that it has secured a new contract for the design and construction of an offshore vessel from an undisclosed international customer.

The Vard designed vessel will have the hull constructed at Vard Braila in Romania, with outfitting and delivery scheduled from Vard Langstenin Norway in 2017.

This order is only the second offshore vessel order for Vard this year. In June, the yard secured a diving support and construction vessel order from Singapore’s Kreuz Subsea Group.

Vard reported today a NOK845m ($98.2m) loss for the third quarter of 2015, compared to a loss of NOK160m ($18.6m) in the same period in 2014.
