Veldhuizen departs from DVB

As it fights to right its shipping exposure, DVB Bank is pushing through a notable management reshuffle with Bert Veldhuizen stepping down as head of the bank’s ship finance business. Veldhuizen is off to pursue other interests.

David Goring-Thomas, a member of DVB’s board of managing directors, will assume responsibility for the bank’s shipping finance business from December 1. Goring-Thomas has been with the bank for 15 years.

Top management at DVB stated that Veldhuizen had made a “significant contribution” in adjusting the maritime division to tackle the “prolonged crisis” in the shipping markets.
