Vietnamese shipbuilder looks to invest in Myanmar
Hanoi: A Vietnamese shipbuilder is looking to invest in a new yard in Myanmar. Haiphong-based Dong A Shipbuilding is looking to invest in a $180m joint venture yard with state backed Myanma Shipyards. The new yard in Myanmar will be able to build and repair ships of up to 22,000 dwt.
Myanmar Shipyards will hold a 51% stake in the venture and Dong A Shipbuilding 49%.
The Myanmar Investment Commission has yet to approve the investment. [24/10/14]
