Vroon sells another MR

The fire sale at troubled Vroon Group and its tanker affiliate Iver Ships is gaining pace. It’s a fortnight since Splash reported that it offloaded the Iver Exact, an eleven-year-old MR tanker. Now one more ship has gone, with the sale of its eldest ship in the Iver prefix series, the same sized Iver Exporter (built 2000).

The taker of the ship is Indian owner Ind Aust Maritime, who has paid $7.5m for the tanker, in a deal that marks its entry into the MR sector.

Ind Aust Maritime is a diverse outfit. On the shipping side of its business it acts primarily as an operator with experience in both wet and dry. Database Equasis lists the company as the owner of some vintage tankers, two dredgers and a couple of smaller passenger ships.
