Wagenborg in for another EasyMax

Brokers Andreas J Zachariassen are reporting Dutch MPP specialist, Wagenborg, has returned to compatriot yard Niestern Sander to build a second 14,000 dwt open hatch ship of the so-called ‘EasyMax’ type, which the owner conceptualised together with the yard when it built the first ship of this design.

The ice-classed ship with what Zachariassen describes in a weekly report as a “peculiarly hydrodynamic design” is considered to be very versatile and optimal in terms of cargo capacity and fuel consumption, with one of its main features including fore accommodations.

The ship will deliver in 2021 and no price has been revealed for its construction.
