Westports looks to raise tariffs
Kuala Lumpur: Westports, one of two terminal operators at Port Klang, is looking to push through its first tariff increase in more than a decade. Any price increase has to be agreed with the Port Klang Authority and authorities at Westports have said they have not yet tabled the actual price hike and whether or not it will be able to push it through this year. Discussions with the port authority are ongoaing. The terminal operator has said a price hike is necessary to meet rising costs at the port.
Westports, which listed last year, is aiming for throughtput growth of between 5-10% in 2014, up from 2013’s 7.4m teu. [21/01/14]
