Wilmar snaps up supramax pair from Norr Systems

Singapore’s Wilmar Ship Holdings has acquired two supramax bulk carriers from compatriot company Norr Systems.

According to broking sources, the two 2013-built vessels Star Vivian and Star Jing have been sold enbloc to Wilmar for a total of $29.6m.

Wilmar has been active in the secondhand market lately, having acquired an ex-Hanjin bulker Hanjin Santana in April and tanker KY Venus from South Korea’s KS Marine via auction in August.

This latest acquisition will increase Wilmar’s fleet to 30 vessels, while Norr Systems is left with a single vessel, 1989-built 4,100 dwt tanker Aranda.
