Wilson offloads another oldie

Oslo: Norwegian short sea operator Wilson has sold mini-bulk carrier MV Wilson Fjord (3,874 dwt, 1977) to an unnamed Marshall Island registered company.

As with a similarly aged vessel sold last week, MV Wilson Marin, Wilson said that the vessel required drydocking to keep in line with the company’s quality standards, which it decided wasn’t a viable option.

The vessel was sold for $550,000 and reduces the company’s fleet size to 108 ships, of which 81 are owned.

The company has two secondhand vessels set to deliver shortly from Dutch company Vertom and also has three 2,600 dwt bulk carriers on order at Wuxue Janda Shipbuilding fin China, due for delivery in 2016.
