Winson Shipping acquires MR tanker

Taiwanese tanker owner Winson Shipping is said to have acquired the 2000-built 47,000 dwt MR2 tanker New Legend from Hong Kong’s Vision Shipping.

According to shipbroking house Intermodal, Winson bought the Onomichi-built vessel for a price of $8m.

The latest acquisition follows the company offloading its 1999-built 45,000 dwt tanker Ocean Topaz to Chinese outfit Forever Fortune Shipping last month at a price of $7.5m.

Winson Shipping currently owns a fleet of 22 tankers.
