WISCO’s own port starts ops

Shanghai: Hubei-based Chinese steelmaker Wuhan Iron and Steel (Group) Corp (WISCO) officially opened its first seaport, Wugan port, in Zhoushan in China's Zhejiang Province, earlier this week.

WISCO contributed 51% of the total investment in the port project, with Ningbo Port Group and Zhejiang Herun Group respectively contributing 25% and 24%. The designed annual throughput capacity of Wugan port is 30m tonnes. It is capable of handling ships of up to 250,000 dwt.  [10/05/13]
