Wisdom ship sinks, nine feared dead

Taipei: A Wisdom Marine ship “Beagle III” collided with a South Korean-registered containership “Pegasus Prime” off Tokyo Bay and sank yesterday.

12 of the 20 Chinese crew aboard the Beagle III were rescued, but one was later confirmed dead. The rescue team are searching for the eight others still missing.

The Korean ship didn’t suffer serious damage. All the crew members onboard were rescued, with two reported as injured.

It is the second collision for Wisdom Marine in a week, its vessel “Genius Star” collided with an oil barge at Houston Channel last Friday.
