Taipei: Brokers working for Taiwan’s Wisdom Marine have been very active of late, both in resales and newbuild contracts. Scorpio Bulkers is taking four panamax dwt bulker resales from Wisdom for $134m. The ships – two 84,000 dwt and two 81,600 dwt -are under construction at Japan’s Imabari Shipbuilding. Wisom expects to neft a $8.73m profit from the sale.
To fill the gap, Wisdom has returned to the same yard ordering a $31.5m 81,600 dwt bulker and two 35,300 dwt bulkers, costing $46.9m for the pair. [07/10/13]
