Wood Group scores two-year services deal from PetroRio

UK-based Wood Group has won a two-year contract from PetroRio to provide services to the Brazilian company’s Polvo A oil and gas offshore platform.

Wood Group will provide integrated operations and maintenance services at the Polvo field, which consists of a fixed production and drilling platform connected to an FPSO. The field is located about 100km off Rio de Janeiro in the southern Campos Basin.

PetroRio specialises in the exploration and production of the country’s offshore oil and gas and was originally named HRT Participacoes em Petroleo SA, before changing to its current name in 2015.

Robin Watson, chief executive of Wood Group, commented: “Our experience operating in Brazil, alongside our strong history of supporting offshore assets across their life cycle in the North Sea, positions us well and we are committed to leveraging our knowledge and expertise to optimise the productivity of the Polvo A platform.”

The new deal is not the first such between these companies. Wood Group has had two prior contracts to provide integrity management support to the Polvo field, the latest one concluding last year.
