X-Press Feeders takes over defunct Team contracts

X-Press Feeders has entered into an agreement to continue some of the existing feeder contracts between Hamburg-based Team Lines and their customers after Team ceased operations on Sunday.

The arrangement will cover Team’s existing East Coast Sweden service connecting Stockholm, Ahus and Norrköping with Hamburg and Bremerhaven that X-Press Feeders will continue to provide on its own revamped TransFeeder North (TFN) and TransFeeder South (TFS) services.

Team Lines was founded in 1991 as an amalgamation of the Baltic and North Sea liner traffic activities of four Hamburg-based shipping companies, H.M. Gehrckens, Ernst Russ, Johannes Ick and Mathies Reederei Schwedendienst. In 2006, the Saverys family containerline Delphis from Antwerp took over Team Lines. The company cited deteriorating market conditions in northern Europe as well as the ongoing consolidation within the liner sector for its demise in a letter to clients earlier this month.

Alphaliner reports that some of Team’s other feeder routes that are provided through slot arrangements with third party operators will also be covered by X-Press Feeders.
