Xin Yuan Group orders asphalt carrier at Mawei Shipbuilding

Hong Kong-based asphalt shipping company Xin Yuan Group has placed an order at Fujian Mawei Shipbuilding for the construction of one 7,500dwt asphalt carrier plus an option to order one more.

The vessel is designed by Shanghai Bestway Marine Engineering Design and delivery is scheduled in 2018.

Other details of the contract were not disclosed.

Xin Yuan Group currently operates seven asphalt carriers with another four vessel on order.
