Yang Ming sets up in Spain

Taiwanese liner Yang Ming Marine Transport has announced that it has established a subsidiary Yang Ming (Spain) to expand in the region.

The new company will be led by Liu Zhihong.

Yang Ming said it has deployed 14,000teu containerships in the Mediterranean region and the Spain subsidiary will help it integrate the network.

Yang Ming currently operates four routes connecting to Spain each week.

In June, Yang Ming appointed Bronson Hsieh, former vice chairman of Evergreen Group, as the new chairman of the company.
