Yangon fuel distribution developments

Bangkok: More than 135 acres owned by the Myanmar Port Authority at Thilawa Special Economic Zone in Thanlyin and Kyauktan Townships of Yangon region have been leased to private fuel companies to operate fuel storage and distribution, according to Directorate of Investment and Companies Administration (DICA ).

Five companies comprising PadaukShwewa, ThuriRaSweninn, ShweTaung, International Group of Entrepreneur and Green Asia companies took on the properties under a build, operate and transfer (BOT) system.

The companies will build jetties to load fuel and distribution works.

The private sector has only been allowed to enter the fuel distribution business in the last three years.  [27/06/13]
