Yangzijiang enters products sector with Bangladeshi order

While other Chinese shipyards are struggling to get orders, the nation’s top private shipbuilder continues to net new intakes. Yangzijiang Shipbuilding has won its first orders for MR product tankers – its affiliate Jiangsu New Yangzi Shipbuilding signing a contract for a pair of ships with Bangladesh Shipping Co (BSC).

No price has been revealed for the vessels which will deliver in 2019 and are understood to have been fixed with significant financing from China. BSC has set about a significant fleet renewal programme of late.

Earlier this week Splash reported Singapore’s Pacific International Lines (PIL) had ordered a further eight 11,800 teu containerships at Yangzijiang for delivery in 2018.
