Yasa fixes newbuild tanker pair to Equinor

Turkish owner Yasa Shipping has fixed a charter contract with Norwegian oil and gas major Equinor for two of four 49,000 dwt MR tankers it ordered at South Korean yard Hyundai Mipo in May.

According to shipbroking sources, the two tankers (hull 2679, hull 2680) will be chartered to Equinor for three years starting from June 2019. The day rate of the contract is $17,000 per day.

Yasa Shipping currently operates a fleet of six tankers comprising of four aframax tankers and two MR2 tankers.
