Yasa orders suezmax pair at Daehan

Brokers report Turkish owner Yasa has placed placed an order for two firm suezmax tankers at Daehan in South Korea. The 158,000 dwt ships are Tier III and will be fitted with scrubbers, and come with a price tag of $61m each with delivery set for 2022.

Yasa, which operates a mixed fleet of bulkers and tankers, has been going through a fleet rejuvenation exercise for the last 18 months, putting most of its tonnage older than 10 years old up for sale, while ordering a swathe of new ships in Korea and China.
