Zayed port set to change management

Abu Dhabi: On 31 December 2013, the concession for the management and operations at Zayed Port will be returned by Abu Dhabi Terminals (ADT)to the port authority, Abu Dhabi Ports Company (ADPC).

The concession is being returned to ADPC in line with the original planning for port capacity for the emirate of Abu Dhabi.

This planning was outlined when ADPC was established.

“All of the current infrastructure, equipment, systems and processes and employees will be transferred to ADPC to ensure a smooth transition,” ADPC said in a statement.

ADT has managed the Zayed Port concession since 2006, and moving forward, ADT and ADPC will continue to work closely together as ADT holds the 30 year concession to manage and operate the emirate’s flagship Khalifa Port.  [09/12/13]
