Zeaborn and Intermarine get clearance for joint venture

Zeamarine, a heavylift joint venture between Intermarine, Zeaborn and Rickmers-Line, has got all the regulatory approvals it needs to set up shop.

The huge new JV will have more than 85 vessels and is expected to exceed 100 vessels by year-end.

This is the latest round of consolidation seen in the heavylift/projects sector, a segment of shipping that has seen more consolidation than most over the past five years.

In a release, the new company stated: “The near-term strategy … is growth, improved customer service; and a continued search for opportunities to build the business.”
