Zodiac Maritime firms up 14,300 teu quintet at Hyundai Heavy

Zodiac Maritime has firmed up orders with Hyundai Heavy Industries of South Korea for five boxships. The 14,300 teu vessels will deliver next year and will be dual fuel ready. Brokers Fearnleys states the price per unit is in excess of $100m.

Boxships have been dominating newbuild orders for the past month with more due to be inked shortly. Hyundai Merchant Marine (HMM) has this week asked yards to bid for a mammoth 20-ship order that will see its owned box fleet double in size by 2020.
