Shanghai: Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries (ZPMC) has announced that it has established a dedicated offshore service group, ZPMC Offshore Engineering Service Company, following the reform of its offshore-related subsidiaries.

Chen Bin, vice president of ZPMC, will be the general manager of the new offshore company.

According to Song Hailiang, president of ZPMC, the offshore company will mainly focus on businesses including heavylift and project cargo shipping, offshore and subsea installation, offshore windpower, and integrated service for the offshore energy market. The company also wants to expand its shipping service to the polar region in the future.

ZPMC signed a framework cooperation agreement with Taiwanese company SWE Green & Sustainable last week for the development of offshore windpower projects.
