ZPMC sued by UK firm
Shanghai: Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries (ZPMC) has announced that its customer Fluor Limited is suing the company at the Technology and Construction Court in the UK.
ZPMC signed a contract with Fluor on supplying €230m worth of steel frames to the latter in 2008. Flour has now asked ZPMC for £250m compensation due to construction delays caused by quality issues with the first three batches of deliveries.
ZPMC said it has refused Flour’s request as it has signed a mutual exemption letter with Flour in 2010 and Flour made full payment on the deal in 2011. ZPMC has formed a legal team to handle the case. [30/09/14]
