Description
As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and supervising the manufacturing and installation of electrical equipment, components, and systems for FPSO/FLNG facilities. You will apply your technical expertise to ensure the efficient operation of electrical systems, adhere to safety standards, and meet project objectives. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, proficiency in design software tools, and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and evaluate electrical systems, equipment, and components, including power distribution systems, control panels, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
- Perform calculations, simulations, and analysis to ensure the reliability, efficiency, and safety of electrical designs, adhering to industry standards and regulations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical engineers, architects, and project managers, to integrate electrical systems into overall project designs.
- Prepare technical specifications, drawings, and documentation for electrical components and systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
- Select appropriate electrical components, materials, and equipment based on project specifications, performance requirements, and budget constraints.
- Conduct feasibility studies and cost estimates for electrical projects, providing recommendations for optimal solutions and resource allocation.
- Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and suppliers to procure electrical equipment and services, ensuring timely delivery and quality assurance.
- Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems, troubleshooting any issues, and ensuring compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
- Provide technical support and guidance to project teams, subcontractors, and maintenance personnel during project execution and post-installation phases.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in electrical engineering, incorporating innovative solutions into project designs and practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Experience in detailed engineering works for offshore exploration is mandatory.
- At least 8 years of experience in managing large-scale EPC for FPSO/FLNG projects
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification preferred.
- Proficiency in electrical design software tools such as AutoCAD Electrical, ETAP, SKM PowerTools, or similar programs.
- Strong knowledge of electrical codes and standards such as NEC, IEC, IEEE, and NFPA.
- Experience with power distribution systems, motor controls, instrumentation, PLCs, and automation technologies.
- Excellent analytical skills and problem-solving abilities to address complex technical challenges and optimize electrical designs.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Detail-oriented approach with a commitment to quality, safety, and compliance in all aspects of work.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
