Description

We are seeking an experienced and driven Fleet Personnel Manager to join an international ship management company. In this pivotal role, you will oversee all aspects of crew planning, management, and administration for our diverse fleet of vessels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full crew planning cycle, from recruitment and deployment to repatriation, ensuring optimal manning levels across the fleet.
  • Collaborate closely with internal and external manning agencies to source and hire qualified seafarers in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and implement robust crew management policies, procedures, and best practices to drive operational excellence.
  • Proactively manage crew rotations, travel arrangements, and payroll processes to ensure seamless operations.
  • Analyze crew performance metrics and provide guidance to vessel teams on crew development and training initiatives.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for crew-related matters, addressing concerns and resolving conflicts in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date crew documentation, including certifications, medical records, and employment contracts.
  • Foster positive working relationships with maritime unions, port authorities, and other industry stakeholders.
  • Continuously monitor industry trends, regulations, and best practices to ensure compliance and identify opportunities for improvement.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a senior crew management or fleet personnel role within the shipping industry.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to oversee and motivate a team of 10-15 personnel.
  • Deep understanding of maritime regulations, labor laws, and industry standards.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in crew management software and systems.
  • Familiarity with crew planning strategies, crew rotation principles, and crew performance evaluation metrics.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Fluency in English is essential; additional language skills are an advantage.
