General Manager - Towing: Lake Charles, LA
Our client, a leader in providing tug and barge services, is looking for an General Manager to join the team.  Reporting to the VP of Operations, this person will oversee both shoreside and marine operations for the area while maintaining/adhering to the company's strong safety guidelines.

Responsibilities:
  • Hire and train all new crew members as well as weekly crew scheduling
  • Oversee dispatchers, monitor vessel assignments
  • Ensure that all assets are in safe, working order, working with Port Engineer to ensure vessel maintenance is in order
  • Monitor all safety training to ensure company guidelines are being met
  • Review all documentation and ensure compliance with USCG regulations as well as internal/external audits
  • Overall responsibility for region P&L
We are looking for someone with the following:
  • Bachelor's Degree, Maritime Academy preferred
  • 5 plus years towing experience, either sailing Captain or previous shoreside
  • Proven leadership/management experience
  • Able to multi task, manage deck, engineering and crews
  • Comfortable interacting with internal and external stakeholders, able to communicate effectively, interact with vendors and customers
  • Solid Microsoft Office skills
