Head of HR Business Partners - New Jersey

Job Summary: The Head of HR Business Partners plays a pivotal role in driving organizational success by leading the HR Business Partner team to effectively align HR strategies and initiatives with the overall business objectives. This position involves collaborating with senior leadership, understanding the needs of various business units, and implementing HR programs and solutions that contribute to the achievement of the organization's goals. The role encompasses a wide range of HR functions, from talent management to employee relations, with a strong emphasis on strategic HR planning.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic HR Leadership:
    • Develop and execute HR strategies that support the company's mission, vision, and business goals.
    • Work closely with senior executives to understand their department-specific needs and ensure HR initiatives are aligned with overall business strategies.
  2. Team Leadership:
    • Lead and manage a team of HR Business Partners, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure their success in serving their respective business units.
    • Set performance expectations, conduct regular performance reviews, and provide professional development opportunities for team members.
  3. Talent Management:
    • Collaborate with business leaders to identify talent needs and develop workforce plans.
    • Oversee the recruitment, onboarding, and retention strategies to attract and retain top talent.
    • Drive performance management processes and provide guidance on performance improvement plans.
  4. Employee Relations:
    • Address and resolve complex employee relations issues, ensuring fair and consistent application of company policies and procedures.
    • Promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture by addressing diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives.
  5. HR Policies and Compliance:
    • Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies and procedures in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
    • Ensure HR practices are compliant with labor laws and industry standards.
  6. Compensation and Benefits:
    • Collaborate with the compensation team to ensure competitive compensation and benefits packages.
    • Oversee compensation reviews, salary benchmarking, and bonus programs.
  7. Organizational Development:
    • Lead organizational development initiatives to enhance employee engagement, team dynamics, and overall productivity.
    • Facilitate change management strategies as needed.
  8. HR Metrics and Analytics:
    • Utilize data-driven insights to make informed decisions and track the effectiveness of HR programs.
    • Monitor key HR metrics and regularly report on HR-related KPIs to senior management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Extensive experience in HR leadership roles, including managing HR Business Partners.
  • Strong knowledge of HR best practices, labor laws, and compliance.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Demonstrated experience in driving diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
  • Proficiency in HRIS (Human Resource Information Systems) and analytics tools.
  • Professional HR certification (e.g., SPHR, SHRM-SCP) is a plus.
