We are delighted to present an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Technical Superintendent to assume the role of Head of Technical Management within a well-established and rapidly expanding tank barge firm based in Antwerp. This position entails a hybrid role, blending strategic oversight with hands-on technical management.
German language skills are essential for this role!
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading overall management of vessel maintenance, repair, and newbuilding projects within the company.
- Directing the technical superintendency team to ensure efficient operations and high-quality standards.
- Establishing and maintaining effective communication channels with clients and stakeholders.
- Exercising comprehensive control over budgeting and reporting for technical management activities.
- Overseeing class and statutory surveys, as well as internal and external technical reporting.
- Assuming overall responsibility for insurance matters pertaining to the fleet.
- Driving fleet performance management initiatives to optimise operational efficiency.
- Collaborating closely with other vessel management departments, including marine and HSE, to uphold safety protocols and ensure seamless operations.
- Travel to vessels as necessary to oversee operations and address any technical issues.
