Leading a team of E&I designers, you will ensure the development of detailed designs, specifications, and documentation while adhering to industry standards, safety regulations, and project requirements. This role requires strong technical expertise in offshore E&I design, project management skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams in a dynamic marine environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of electrical and instrumentation designers in the development of offshore marine E&I designs, including power distribution, control systems, instrumentation, and safety systems.
  • Review project specifications, engineering drawings, and technical documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations.
  • Develop detailed electrical and instrumentation drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams using CAD software, ensuring alignment with project requirements and client expectations.
  • Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, such as mechanical, structural, and piping, to integrate E&I systems into marine facility designs.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to optimize E&I designs, considering factors such as equipment specifications, operational requirements, and safety standards.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior E&I designers and engineers, fostering their professional development and ensuring the quality of deliverables.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and vendors to clarify design requirements, resolve technical issues, and ensure alignment with project objectives and timelines.
  • Participate in project meetings, design reviews, and site inspections to communicate progress, identify challenges, and propose solutions to project stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to source E&I materials, equipment, and components, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with project specifications.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, industry regulations, and safety standards in all aspects of E&I design and project execution.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma in electrical engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • At least 10 years of experience in managing large-scale EPC for FPSO/FLNG projects.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in electrical and instrumentation designing, with at least 5 years in team lead capacity.
  • Proficiency in electrical design software such as AutoCAD Electrical, ETAP, SKM PowerTools, or similar tools, with specific experience in offshore applications preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of offshore industry standards and regulations, including API, IEC, IEEE, and ABS rules for the classification of marine vessels and structures.
  • Experience with electrical power distribution, control systems, instrumentation, and automation technologies used in offshore environments.
  • Excellent project management skills, including planning, scheduling, and resource allocation, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients, stakeholders, and project teams, both internally and externally.
  • Detail-oriented approach with a commitment to quality, accuracy, and compliance in all aspects of E&I design.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, adapting to changing priorities and project requirements.
  • Strong leadership abilities, with the capability to motivate teams, foster collaboration, and drive continuous improvement in E&I design processes and practices.
