Halcyon Recruitment have partnered with this prestigious maritime law firm, to deliver the search for a Marine Manager.

As a Marine Manager you will attend shipping incidents/casualties globally, and carry out a thorough investigation to establish the cause of the incident.

This will involve interviewing the crew, reviewing documents, analysing electronic evidence and providing advice to clients on the merits and weaknesses of the case. Following casualty attendance you will also produce detailed written witness statements based on your investigation.

You will also be involved in handling and presentation of claims on behalf of the firm's clients, negotiation of liability with other law firms, preparation of cases to take to trial alongside the firm's lawyers, and you will use your shipping background to contribute advice to other cases in the office.

Applicants should have significant seagoing experience, sailing to Chief Officer, or preferably Master, on dry bulk/tanker/container vessels.
Those who have existing insurance, investigation and report writing, or legal sector experience will have a distinct advantage.
The nature of this role, requires the flexibility and eligibility to travel globally, regularly at short notice.
