Navy Segment Sales Representative - San Diego
Summary: The Outside Salesperson will oversee continued development and expansion of sales in the San Diego area sales territory representing product lines. The position will require the ability to visit customer's place of business, shipyards or vessels as needed, and to prospect new customers. The salesperson will collaborate with product managers, inside sales and vendors, and other internal and external resources to actively manage the territory. The salesperson will focus on driving sustainable, profitable growth and long term customer satisfaction.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
Preferred Qualifications
- B.S. in an engineering field or business related equivalent experience
- 5+ years experience in sales or marine industry employment
- Ability to travel 10-15% in the San Diego and Long Beach markets. Occasional travel to conferences and training sessions around the country.
- Excellent communication skills, written and oral
- Ability to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC™), Valid State Driver’s License.
Work Environment: Varied, will include vessel visits in port and in drydocks. Will also include customer office visits.
Physical Demands: The employee may on rare occasion lift and /or move up to 25 pounds. Ship checks will require entering confined spaces and machinery spaces which can be physically demanding in all types of inclement weather. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit.
