Owners Representative – London

We are working with a highly reputable shipowner/operator to help them find an experienced Owners Representative to manage the managers of a small but growing fleet of externally managed vessels.

The ideal candidate will have experience of extracting the maximum performance and value from third party ship managers while ensuring the assets are maintained to highest of standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop deep understanding of and ensure adherence to third party ship management contracts
• Establish and monitor key performance criteria for vessel operating performance, cost management, and asset conditioning
• Assemble and lead a team to oversee day-to-day ship manager relationship management and performance monitoring
• Link closely with the 3rd party senior management to align third party ship manager performance to in house strategic goals
• Demand and achieve strong performance from ship managers through disciplined oversight and follow-ups
• Represent the company professionally but firmly in all external dealings with ship managers

Required Qualifications/Experience:

• Master Mariner or Chief Engineer with 10+ years shore based experience in a Fleet Manager / Owners Representative position
• 5+ years leading high performance teams in a complex, service provider environment
• Strong contract management acumen and analytical skills
• Ability to take an expansive yet disciplined approach to driving supplier performance
• Relentless focus on achieving goals through motivated people
