Description

Our client, a leading Classification Society dedicated to enhancing life and property security while preserving the environment, is seeking a passionate HV Senior Engineer. In this role, you'll spearhead groundbreaking technology initiatives focused on electrification and hybridisation in marine and offshore energy & renewable sectors.

This position offers flexibility and can be based in most European countries where our client has offices.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead research and evaluate new technologies in electrical engineering, particularly in marine hybridisation and electrification.
  • Develop guidelines and requirements for applying new technologies in marine and offshore operations.
  • Provide technical support to our client and industry peers on marine hybridisation and electrification.
  • Demonstrate thought leadership through technical publications, presentations, and participation in industry committees.

Requirements:

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum eight (8) years of relevant engineering experience in a marine-related environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field (Master's preferred).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in High Voltage (HV) systems (66kV-230kV+ AC/DC).
  • Familiarity with Offshore Wind HVAC and HVDC power generation and distribution.
  • Understanding of HV Transmission, Substations, Cables, and AC/DC Converters.
  • Knowledge of HV technology application in Offshore Wind Farms.
  • Experience with system-level modelling and simulation.
  • Familiarity with high-capacity energy storage systems and electrical equipment installation and testing.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Collaborative mindset with demonstrated ability to work effectively in teams.

Experience with IECRE requirements is a plus.
