Role Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Sales Proposal Engineer with expertise in shaft line defence projects to join our team. In this role, you will serve as the technical expert alongside the sales team, responsible for developing complex proposals and solutions tailored to our clients' needs. With a background in marine engineering, particularly in the engine room, you will leverage your technical knowledge to support project and bid teams in delivering high-quality proposals. This is a client-facing role that requires a high level of clearance (SC) due to the sensitive nature of defence projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the sales team to understand client requirements and develop technical solutions for shaft line defence projects
• Utilise your expertise in marine engineering to assess project feasibility, identify potential risks, and propose innovative solutions to mitigate challenges
• Translate technical requirements into comprehensive proposals, including detailed scope of work, cost estimates, and timelines
• Act as a key liaison between the sales team and project/bid teams, providing technical guidance and support throughout the proposal development process
• Conduct technical presentations and participate in client meetings to communicate proposed solutions and address any technical queries or concerns
• Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements to continuously enhance proposal capabilities and competitiveness

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in marine engineering or a related field
• Proven experience in a technical role within the marine industry
• Strong understanding of marine propulsion systems, particularly in the engine room, and their integration into defence applications
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Experience working in a client-facing role, preferably in a sales engineering or proposal engineering capacity
• SC clearance is mandatory due to the nature of defence projects
