Civil/Structural Engineer with Strong Design Experience

Experience: Minimum 5 years of relevant experience

Work Authorisation: This position requires obtaining UK security clearance. As a consequence this position is only open to UK citizens or those with an indefinite leave to remain in the UK.

They are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Civil/Structural Engineer with good design experience. It is not necessary to have experience in the sectors or with the design work our client is providing as training is provided.

Responsibilities:

Management: This position will act as a guide and mentor to graduate and junior engineers.

Structural Analysis: Conduct advanced structural analysis using state-of-the-art software and tools to evaluate the performance and integrity of different systems and components under dynamic loading conditions.

Design Optimization: Apply engineering principles to develop cost-effective, sustainable, and high-performance solutions that withstand seismic and extreme load scenarios while adhering to project constraints and regulations.

Project Planning: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop project plans, timelines, and budgets, ensuring successful project execution and delivery.

Code Compliance: Stay up-to-date with the latest building codes, regulations, and industry standards related to seismic and extreme load design, and incorporate them into the design process.

Risk Assessment: Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to address potential hazards and vulnerabilities in critical infrastructure and defence projects.

Quality Assurance: Oversee the implementation of quality assurance measures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of engineering deliverables.

Continuous Improvement: Stay informed about emerging trends, technologies, and research in the field of seismic and extreme load design, and identify opportunities for process improvement and innovation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil/structural design.
  • Strong proficiency in structural analysis and design software
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and other drafting software for the preparation of engineering drawings.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects concurrently while meeting deadlines and maintaining quality standards.
