Technical Engineer

Faststream Recruitment is hiring a Technical Engineer based in Southampton for a specialist vessel repair company.

The Client:
They are a leading Maritime service provider on an international scale. They support varied maritime businesses with managing, conducting and improving their vessels. They have strong experience dealing with offshore and marine-related projects. The clients are well-known in the industry for providing the best assistance with inspections, repairs, maintenance, new builds and all underwater services.

The position:
To plan, manage and perform tasks such as feasibility studies, design studies, and detail design. You will also take part in plan approval work, specification writing, site supervision and cost estimating. Liaise with onsite customers to ensure expectations and requirements are met or exceeded.

The Essential:

• Engineering qualification in Marine/Mechanical Engineering or Naval Architecture.
• Eligibility for Security Clearance up to UK Secret.
• Computer literate with knowledge and experience in the use of Microsoft Office Professional (including MS Project), also knowledge of bespoke design software i.e. AutoCAD, Mathcad, FEA.
• Experience in afloat ship repair on in-shore/offshore diving projects.
• Right to work in the UK.
