Roles and Duties

– Oversee technical management of our fleet, encompassing daily maintenance and repair operations, budgeting, survey scheduling, onboard vessel assessments, inspections, and docking logistics.
– Ensure assigned vessels adhere to technical operational standards as per management agreement requirements.
– Collaborate with vendors and operational/marketing teams to ensure technical and operational readiness, including vessel performance evaluations.
– Evaluate dry-docking needs, obtain repair quotes, select shipyards, and manage ship maintenance.
– Attend to vessel dry-docking, repairs, and surveys as needed, specifying repair requirements and maintenance protocols.
– Compile comprehensive reports post-dry-docking, detailing completed works, operational budgets, and expenditures.
– Source technical and operational supplies economically for vessels.
– Monitor vessel technical status in relation to class certification and surveys.
– Maintain and document statutory, SOLAS, and equipment certificates.
– Offer technical assistance and advice to ships at home port and abroad.
– Review log processes monthly and conduct vessel inspections.
– Supervise contractors’ vessel repair and maintenance.
– Implement budgeting and cost control measures for ship spares and docking needs.
– Conduct technical compliance audits and investigate defects/failures regularly.
– Collaborate with the HSE Management team to ensure effective QHSE system implementation.
– Review codes, guidelines, and standards for compliance with Quality & Safety Management standards.
– Maintain zero loss time accident record for vessels and report all incidents and near misses.
– Undertake additional technical assignments as necessary.

Qualifications

– Chief Engineer/Marine Engineer experience with minimum class 1 certification or equivalent, preferably in product/chemical tanker operations.
– Experience in leading technical teams.
– Strong organizational and communication skills.
– Ability to work independently and resourcefully under pressure to meet deadlines.
– Analytical and proactive in technical troubleshooting and problem-solving.
– Capable of conducting effective stand-up training for vessel crews.
– Willingness to travel on short notice.
– Must possess Class 1 COC.
