Technical Superintendent (PNG)

Are you passionate about maritime engineering and ensuring the safety and efficiency of marine operations? Join our client as a Technical Superintendent and play a crucial role in maintaining the operational integrity and safety of their fleet. The position will be based in Lae, Papua New Guinea. Rotational work arrangement.

As the Technical Superintendent, you'll be a key member of our multinational technical team, reporting directly to the Technical Manager and company owners. Your responsibilities will be varied, including overseeing routine maintenance, managing emergency repairs, and coordinating the installation of new machinery.

Additionally, you'll play a vital role in troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems, providing technical support and training to local staff, and ensuring compliance with international maritime regulations.

• Proven seagoing experience, preferably as an ex-Chief Engineer or Electrical Engineer
• At least 3 - 5 years of experience in a superintendent or service engineering role preferred.
• Working experience with MPVs, Landing Crafts, Tugs and Barges.
• In-depth knowledge of marine systems, including propulsion, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues swiftly.
• Prior working experience in Papua New Guinea, Africa or Nigeria is preferable.
