Warehouse and Logistics Manager (Food Grade Products)

We are seeking a Warehouse and Logistics Manager with expertise in handling food grade products and specifically, coffee. The ideal candidate will oversee the efficient operation of the warehouse facilities while ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality control, and compliance with food safety regulations. This role requires strong leadership abilities, exceptional organizational skills, and a proven track record in managing inventory, distribution, and logistics processes within the food industry.

Responsibilities for the Warehouse and Logistics Manager (Food Grade Products):

  1. Manage day-to-day warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping of food grade products and coffee.
  2. Implement and maintain best practices for inventory management, ensuring accurate stock levels, FIFO (first in, first out) rotation, and minimal shrinkage.
  3. Develop and enforce strict adherence to food safety regulations, sanitation protocols, and quality assurance standards throughout the warehouse.
  4. Lead and motivate a team of warehouse staff, providing training, coaching, and performance feedback to optimize productivity and efficiency.
  5. Collaborate with procurement and production teams to forecast inventory needs, coordinate replenishment orders, and minimize stockouts or overstock situations.
  6. Oversee the transportation and distribution of products, coordinating with carriers, freight forwarders, and third-party logistics providers to ensure on-time delivery and cost-effective shipping solutions.
  7. Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, transactions, and shipment tracking, utilizing inventory management software and other relevant tools.
  8. Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and operational efficiency enhancements within the warehouse and logistics operations.
  9. Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the effectiveness of warehouse operations and implement corrective actions as needed.
  10. Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies relevant to food logistics and warehouse management.

Requirements for the Warehouse and Logistics Manager (Food Grade Products):

  1. Proven experience in warehouse management, with a focus on food grade products and coffee.
  2. Proven experience with blending, bulk handling or the cleaning of green coffee
  3. Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field (preferred).
  4. Strong knowledge of food safety regulations (e.g., FDA, USDA, HACCP) and quality management systems.
  5. Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively supervise and motivate a diverse team.
  6. Proficiency in inventory management software, warehouse management systems (WMS), and Microsoft Office Suite.
  7. Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving operational challenges.
  8. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, prioritize multiple tasks, and meet tight deadlines without compromising quality or safety.
  9. Forklift certification and experience operating material handling equipment (preferred).
  10. Flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends, or holidays as required to support warehouse operations and meet customer demands.
  11. Commitment to maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with OSHA and company standards.
