TB Marine orders chemical tankers in China

German owner TB Marine has contracted up to eight chemical tankers at Ningbo Xinle Shipbuilding in China.

The Hamburg-headquartered outfit will see our firm 22,000 dwt IMO type II vessels delivered in 2027 for an undisclosed price.

The company, founded in 2005 by Steffen Thate and Stephan Bracker, has four optional newbuilds attached to the deal.

TB Marine is listed on VesselsValue with 20 owned ships in the tanker and boxship segments and around 50 vessels under management.

Several owners had signed up for chemical tanker tonnage in recent months, including Chinese chemical enterprise Junzheng Group, Denmark’s Rederiet MH Simonsen and another German owner, GEFO.
